MADISON – Former Wisconsin point guard Jordan Taylor has accepted a summer league invite with the Atlanta Hawks.

Taylor was originally considering an offer from the Milwaukee Bucks, but according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal Taylor felt more comfortable with the schedule and potential playing time with the Hawks.

He’ll head for Atlanta on July 6th and take part in the Hawks’ summer league slate set to begin July 13th against the Washington Wizards. Taylor, who went undrafted in last week’s NBA Draft, will also play summer league games against the San Antonio Spurs (July 15), Boston Celtics (July 16), Dallas Mavericks (July 18) and Portland Trail Blazers (July 19).

Taylor did tell ESPNWisconsin.com he would explore playing overseas if things didn’t work out immediately with the NBA summer league late last week.

“I know it’s a realistic opportunity,” Taylor said. “Obviously it’s not my first choice, but obviously not being drafted I’ll go to summer league and hopefully do well. I really don’t know what’s going to happen.

“If I have to entertain those options (I will).”
