MADISON – The Big Ten conference named Montee Ball its offensive player of the week Monday morning, just two days after the Wisconsin senior rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-14 rout of Purdue.
Ball became the Big Ten’s all-time leader in touchdowns (72) and points scored (434) during his career day inside Ross-Ade Stadium. It is the fifth such award Ball has won during his career and the first of this season.
Ball was also the last UW player to win Big Ten offensive player of the week (Nov. 28, 2011). Chris Borland won the Big Ten’s defensive player of the week for his performance during UW’s 37-26 win over UTEP in week four.
