MADISON – Wisconsin’s 2013 non-conference meeting with BYU will not be the lone meeting between the two schools.
The University of Wisconsin athletic department announced Thursday that UW and BYU will square off in a home-and-home series in 2017 and 2018, with the first of those two matchups taking place at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
“I’m excited to play three games against BYU,” UW head coach Bret Bielema, including the Badgers 2013 meeting with the Cougars, said. “As we continue to strengthen our non-conference schedule it’s great to have a team with the history of success that BYU has come to Camp Randall Stadium. It also provides an opportunity for our fans to travel to one of the great venues in college football, LaVell Edwards Stadium.”
Since Bret Bielema took over as head coach in 2006, both Wisconsin and BYU have seen quite a bit of success. Each team currently has 64 wins, with winning percentages that rank No. 10 and No. 11 nationally during that time.
Wisconsin also has Washington State (2014 in Pullman and 2015 in Madison), Virginia Tech (2016 in Blacksburg and 2017 in Madison) and Washington (2018 in Seattle and 2019 in Madison) scheduled in the future, all of which are BCS conference programs.
