MADISON - Bret Bielema's twitter timeline is fast becoming a hotbed for Wisconsin Badgers football news.

Late Tuesday night the seventh-year head coach announced the six team captains, as voted on by the UW football team. There were three representatives on each side of the ball.

Montee Ball, Rick Wagner, Travis Frederick, Chris Borland, Mike Taylor and Shelton Johnson were the top six vote getters.

Frederick and Borland are the first juniors to receive such recognition since Jonathan Casillas did in 2007.

The Badgers had six team captains as recently as 2010. UW went on to win the Big Ten with an 11-1 regular season record before losing 21-19 to TCU in the Rose Bowl.
